The Guilford County Register of Deeds office recently revised its Indexing Rules. The new rules will become effective on Tuesday, January 22, 2008.

These revisions were completed with the help of the Register of Deeds Indexing Staff; UNC Institute of Government; and the Land Records Division of the NC Secretary of State. In addition, we held a public meeting for customers in our Greensboro and High Point offices. This effort has been the most significant review of our rules since 1997.

The Indexing Rules will be posted on all public search computers in the Greensboro and High Point offices and a manual copy will be available upon request.

These changes were completed after a four month review.  Indexing staff; UNC Institute of Government, and Land Records Division of NC Secretary of State were involved.
