The Shack By William P. Young
by Jeff
After about 50 pages–I could not put it down. This is a great read about a father struggling with the abduction and death of his 6 yr. old daughter Missy. Four years later, he returns to the last location providing any evidence of the abduction- a shack in a remote area. Not to give much away, but the book deals with the question of “Where is God in a world filled with unspeakable pain?” I’m sure this book will get around. I stopped by Reva’s, new Italian restaurant for lunch and a lady noticed the book and immediately asked about it.
The Shack is a New York Times Bestseller. Oh yeah, and God is a large African American woman; Jesus is Middle Eastern dressed like a laborer with tool belt and gloves, and the Holy Spirit (Sarayu) is Asian. Of course, they have real good chemistry….
