As Register of Deeds, technology enhancement, organizational transformation, and customer service have been my top priorities. In addition, records preservation and data security will be crucial in the coming years.
I'll need your help to continue to serve the citizens of Guilford County.
Robin Royal is seen in the middle. Crunched between David Smith and Debbie Johnson to the left and Marcelle Fowler and Robin’s mother. Robin has had a courageous battle with cancer over the past few years. We pray that she is comfortable, getting rest, and feels the prayers we lift for her well being. The staff at the Register of Deeds office, her friends and former co-workers in the mail room have her close to their hearts tonight and hope you do as well.
A Problem-Solving Mindset article was featured in the Spring issue of Guilford College magazine. The article featured NC House Rep. Maggie Jeffus; US Rep. Howard Coble; Commissioner Paul Gibson, former Mayor Billy Ragsdale; and Mr. Deeds.
Filing closed on Friday at noon and I survived unopposed. For whatever reason…great changes in our office, good press, or just plain disinterest by the public, I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve another term as Guilford County Register of Deeds. I was reflecting on Friday that I’ve never had a pass on anything and this was truly an unexpected surprise.
There is still much work to be completed.
Customer Service. Performance. E-Recording. Redaction. Cross-Training. Move to the BB and T building.
I’ll certainly have much to focus on…. Thanks to the citizens of Guilford County.
My interview with Leanne Petty aired recently on “Wake Up With The Wolf”. A company based in Illinois called National Deed Service, Inc. sent deceptive letters to Guilford County citizens earlier this month. Leanne asked about the company’s mailing and how citizens can obtain certified copies of the homeowner’s deed. Take a listen!
We have added a list of accomplishments in 2007, as well as the results from surveys taken last year on subjects such as the progress of the Deeds office, the quality and professionalism of the staff, and the new computer system. Responses were quite positive!
Check them out to see how far we’ve come. You can also see the previous years (2005, 2006) accomplishments.
